Who are you?
Hi! I am Stacey, owner of Design at 409. Qualified baker, past cake business owner, maker, creator, designer, and everything from start to finish here at Design at 409 - I design, make, create and laser cut. (Plus everything in between from office admin to packaging and beyond - a one woman show!)
What do you do?
I design and create laser cut products using a CO2 laser cutter, sent all around New Zealand. Cake toppers, acrylic cake decorating products and some other rad goodies.
What are your hours?
As it is just me wrangling everything as well as having a family (and sometimes a life!) my plate tends to get rather full, so I work currently 4 days a week - Monday to Thursday 9.30am to 3pm. If emailing outside of these hours, I will reply as soon as possible the next day or after the weekend.
How do I order?
The ordering process is pretty straight forward and can be done through this website. Choose what you would like, add to cart and then follow the instructions to fill out your details etc. and then payment. I will then cut your order and get sent off as soon as possible.
Do you have a deal on your acrylic embossing cookie stamps still?
Yes! I still offer the buy 5 acrylic embossing cookie stamps and the 5th is free (woohoo!) on all single $12.65 and $14.65 stamps. But even better now - I have included the raised (reverse embossing) stamps also! So you can buy 5 and the 5th is free on those also - or you can mix and match raised stamps and embossing stamps and the deal still applies. And it automatically applies at checkout for you! (lowest price product will be taken off as the freebie)
How much is postage?
I use NZ Post for my postage. Nationwide tracked is $8.50 for non signature (meaning the parcel will be left - this is at your own risk) I also have the option of signature required which is $12.50 and recommended to avoid stolen parcels.
Whilst rural delivery is extra, I don't charge for rural delivery and absorb the extra cost. When checking out please still add your RD number if you are rural to ensure I add the right tickets to your parcel or it may be returned back to me, held because of insufficient postage or you will be billed at your end if insufficient tickets are added. (Please note with rising costs of posts yearly - this price may be subject to change at any time)
Pick up is not available sorry as I work from our private home rurally.
Do you ship to Australia?
Yes I do! A flat rate of $15.00 NZD is charged - please note that this is not tracked so is sent as a standard parcel. It is unable to be tracked so once I have sent, it is no longer my responsibility. No refunds or reimbursements are available for lost parcels. The targeted delivery time frame is 3 to 10 working days.
I do also offer an international courier option that is tracked and signature required, at a flat rate of $35.00 NZD. The targeted time frame for delivery is 2 to 6 working days. And a tracking number will be sent to you for that option.
How long do orders and postage take?
As I am doing all this as one person, I say approximately 2 to 7 days from ordering for your order to be ready to send. (Although I am often a lot quicker than that!) And then NZ Post put their target delivery time at 3 to 5 days. Although please remember that is ONLY a target date and may take longer, especially to rural. So please be patient as everyone along the chain is just doing their best. Best to order as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
We are also still seeing the effects of covid19 with a lot more parcels going through the sorting centres and a lot of back log in the centres, so are seeing longer delays than normal. Please be patient and if your parcel has taken longer than the estimated delivery time - you can call NZ Post on 0800 501 501 and query it from there. (Please note - the day the parcel is sent is not considered a working day - it is from the next day)
Also please note, that once I have posted your order, I can no longer take responsibility for it as it is then in the hands of the postal service and completely out of my control as to delivery time frame, delays, hold ups etc. and I can take no responsibility for anything arriving late or being stolen. No refunds or replacements will be issued. If you are worried about something being stolen from your address, please use the signature required option.
Do you have a shop?
No I don't have a shop or somewhere to visit sorry, I am a small at home based business.
How can I call you?
I work online and run my business as an online based service (this website), and therefore do not have a contact phone number. You can email anytime of course and I can get back to you as soon as possible. (Monday to Thursday 9.30am - 3pm) This is the easiest way for me to answer your questions and of course we will have a written account so I can be more helpful for you and point you in the right direction. Do you make custom orders?
I have a selection of the custom toppers I make on the website here - Cake Toppers/Custom You can add the name etc. for whichever topper it is and it will be customised for you in that style of topper. I will add more and more custom to the website as I get a chance to.
Do you send a draft?
A draft can be sent on custom orders and you have the option of choosing it on the custom orders - at an added cost. (there are instructions of where to add the name etc. into the box on checkout, on each listing) If you do choose a draft it will be emailed to the email address you provide. You will need to check all spelling etc. as once approved, will be cut with the approved spelling and if approved and then incorrect and cut, unfortunately you will have to order a new topper again at full cost. Please get back to me with your approval within 48 hours of receiving my email with your draft.
If you do not choose a draft, please ensure all spelling is correct. I take no responsibility if you have spelt something incorrectly and you will have to order a new topper at full cost if it is incorrect on your part.
Do you offer refunds?
No unfortunately I am unable to offer refunds as everything is cut when ordered. So please choose carefully when ordering as once ordered and paid for, your order will be final, cut and sent.
